World Poker Tour Revolving Door

Since then there has been a plethora of young attractive and untalented host’s attempting to fill the shoes of Shana and they have all fallen woefully short. First, it was Courtney Friel. Courtney is a former news reporter with several years of experience. She is indeed attractive but when it came to poker she knew absolutely nothing at all. She also came off as being disinterested when she did her exit interviews with the players. You could tell she knew very little about the game because her questions were so simplistic and un-engaging. Second, there was Sabina Gadecki. Sabina is an aspiring actress that, while looking like a 12 year old in front of the camera’s, again knows nothing about the game of poker. Sabina did give it an honest effort and you could tell she really wanted to do well but it just did not project well on TV. Currently, Layla Kayleigh is the host of the WPT and this is yet another train wreck happening before our eyes. Again, a lack of knowledge of the game hurts any chances of her being believable. Layla is a model plain and simple. Nothing more and nothing less. She is attractive and that’s a far as it goes. Yet another failure by the WPT producers to really understand and appreciate what Shana Hiatt brought to the table.
I would recommend that the WPT producers go back and watch video of Shana Hiatt and seriously try to find someone within the poker world to do this job. I would highly recommend hiring Evelyn Ng for this task as she is both intelligent, projects well on TV and knows the game. If not her then Vanessa Rousso would be another good choice. There has to be an attractive, intelligent, knowledgeable player out there that can do TV work and project well. I hope the WPT starts to take the female host job seriously and puts someone in the position that is actually capable of doing the job and doing it well. Otherwise, the hostess position will continue to be a revolving door.
