A Day in the Life of Curtom

I got home late last night and decided to login and play a tourney with one of my good friends on the West Coast. He works at the post office and usually gets in around the same time. We ended up playing a $2.20 No Limit multi-table with around 529 players. I got off to a slow start but built my stack up to around 15k after the second break. I was doing fairly good.

I picked up [A][K] after the break and got involved in what I knew would be a flip with another player for his last 7k. He turned over Pocket Tens. I got no help on the flop, turn or river and was back down to 7k myself. No big deal but a little disappointing. Anyhow, I fought back up to 13k and ended up busting out when I ran my [J][T] into Pocket Aces. I still had a draw for an inside straight or any Jack or Ten as I had hit a Ten on the flop.

I had a nice run and cashed at 43. My buddy had 110k when I left and was in prime position to make his run for the Final Table. He busted out 26th though. That’s how it goes sometimes.
