WSOPE Broadcast on ESPN

After the Super Bowl I sat down and watched the World Series of Poker Europe on ESPN. There was definitely a different feel to this particular series in comparison to how it is run in the US. Not that it made any difference. The game is still the same and surprisingly all of the players were there from all over the globe as usual. The dealers dealt a little differently which takes a little getting used to but the tourney is interesting to watch.

I finally got an opportunity to see Annette Obrestad play and I must say I was impressed. She seemed to do quite well as I expected. Players only have to be 18 in Europe instead of 21 like in the states. Although I don’t agree with the age requirements it does add another element of intrigue to the tournament. Hellmuth was at it again antagonizing a Russian player at his table and Ivey ended  up busting out when his Pocket Nines ran into Pocket Queens.

The rest of the broadcast ought to be fun to watch and I am looking forward to it.

Congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Mike Tomlin. Great job!
