Barney Frank to Introduce new Internet Gambling Bill

Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts is set to introduce a bill that would allow United States citizens to gamble on the Internet. The bill would also provide for regulation and taxation on the winnings to the tune of just about $52 Billion dollars over the next ten years. This clearly would open up a viable revenue stream to a country that is in need of revenue during these trying times.

Frank will be introducing the bill as a stand-alone bill and it will not be attached to some other critical scenario that would make it difficult to veto. There will be resistance on the Republican side due to the so called morality of gambling breaking up families but I suspect it will pass. We will be keeping an eye out as the bill is expected to be introduced after Easter.
