Paddy Power Offers Tiger Woods $75 Million Sponsorship Deal
Posted by Curtom | March 6, 2010 | Posted in: Articles, News | Comments (4)I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous. Seriously, who wants a professional golfer that is not necessarily associated with his gambling exploits right now to endorse their casino? Apparently online poker room Paddy Power does. TMZ is reporting that Tiger Woods was offered $75 million to become a sponsored player on the site. The details of the offer are not known but one would think that Paddy Power is raking in quite a bit of money making offers like this.
The kicker is that Woods turned down the deal post haste! Now how may people would do something like that unless they are ridiculously rich? On a more serious note the deal is probably not to Tigers benefit to take at the moment considering his circumstances. I also have to consider the source. TMZ is known for exaggerating stories but my curiosity got the best of me on this one.

Sadly he won’t do it. The guy’s going to be so image-conscious, it’s a non-starter. Shame….would have been amazing.
I am afraid the timing is pretty poor by Paddy Power. Why would anyone, image problem or not, sign a deal in the midst of trying to save their marriage? I think it would be great if Tiger came on board. Maybe down the line but the timing is terrible.
I think that Paddy Power has chosen the right time to sign up or offer US$ 75 million. As they say…Any type of publicity is good, whether good or bad. Tiger Woods has become a household name even to those people least interested in Golf. My Mom rang me up one fine morning and inquired about Tiger Woods. She had no idea about Golf and had never heard of him. Thus, Tiger Woods has definitely got a great publicity from his raunchy moves.
In fact, I believe that after the sex scandal the brand value of Tiger has not at all depreciated. Actually it has increased. Thus, Paddy Power’s offer is time calculated one.
But the question remains…Will Tiger accept the offer? Let’s wait and watch!
Thanks for the comment Cameron.
